While in law school, he was a published member of The West Virginia Law Review, for which he also served as Executive Research Editor from Fall 2001 through Spring 2002. His article, Digital Audio Distribution via the Internet: Is it a "Platinum" Idea or a "One-Hit Wonder"?, was published in the Fall of 2001 at 104 W. Va. L. Rev. 209. Also while attending the West Virginia University College of Law, Mr. Levine was a teaching assistant for the school's Legal Research and Writing Department; was the first-place winner of the ASCAP Nathan Burkan Memorial Writing Competition for his piece titled The Audio Home Recording Act of 1992; and was a member of the Marlyn E. Lugar Trial Association and the Republican Law Caucus. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar and its Committee on Intellectual Property, as well as the American Bar Association and its Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries and Intellectual Property and Business Law sections. He also is a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Section; the Tennessee Bar Association and its Entertainment and Sports Law Section; the Beverly Hills Bar Association and its Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property, and Business Law Sections; and the American Inn of Court. Mr. Levine is admitted to practice in the State of West Virginia and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and is recognized by the West Virginia State Bar as a trained mediator. He is a member of Defense Trial Council of West Virginia. Mr. Levine has been an active musician in the Huntington-Charleston, West Virginia music community for many years and is an associate member of The Recording Academy (formerly the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences), an ASCAP affiliated songwriter, and a member and trustee of the American Federation of Musicians - Local 136. Additionally, Mr. Levine is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. |
