My present practice is based upon thirty three years of experience gained while trying or settling over 450 eminent domain cases and inverse condemnation cases, and over 200 water law cases. During the early years of my practice, I served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, and as a staff attorney for the Denver Water Board. I now represent both the public and the private sector in litigation over property and water rights. With my partner, Jody Harper Alderman, I am involved in eminent domain, inverse condemnation, water law and related environmental litigation across Colorado. Our work has led to approximately fifty reported decisions (and perhaps another fifteen unreported decisions) such as United States v. Colorado & Eastern Ry. Co. , 50 F.3d 1530 (10th Co. 1995)(Superfund); E-470 Public Highway Auth. V. Jagow , 2001 WL 128464 (Colo. Ct. App. 2001)(eminent domain); City of Grand Junction v. City & County of Denver , 960 P.2d 675 (Colo. 1998); and Animas Valley Sand & Gravel, Inc. v. Board of County Commissioners , ____ P.3d ____ (Colo. 2001) (inverse condemnation).
