Background Tony Wilson has specialized in Franchising, Trade Mark and Intellectual Property law since 1988. In addition to his legal publications, he has also written for the Globe and Mail, Macleans Magazine and the Vancouver Sun. He is a political speechwriter, writes a regular humour column in the Canadian Bar Association's "Bartalk" Magazine, and is an avid Macintosh user and sailor. Law Practice Tony Wilson regularly speaks and writes on Franchising, Trade Mark and Hospitality law issues on behalf of the Canadian Franchise Association and B.C. Continuing Legal Education. He acts for many local and national franchisors and master franchisors. He also acts for franchisees seeking to acquire franchise rights in Canada, and is the author of BUYING A FRANCHISE IN CANADA: Understanding & Negotiating Your Franchise Agreement published by Self Counsel Press. As many franchised businesses are in the hotel, restaurant and food services sector, Mr. Wilson also regularly advises clients on Liquor Licencing in British Columbia. Mr. Wilson is a Registered Trade Mark Agent and advises on all aspects of Trade Mark law, as well as Copyright law, trade secrets and confidentiality agreements.
