| Charlene D. Davis, a director, joined The Bayard Firm in 1988. Her practice focuses on bankruptcy/creditors' rights and commercial litigation. Charlene regularly represents creditors and debtors in many large bankruptcy cases. She is an experienced federal litigator and a former Assistant United States Attorney.Charlene is a member of the Advisory Committee to the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. She is a past President of the Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and a member of the Delaware Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. She served as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals from 1996-1998 and on the Third Circuit's Bench-Bar Relations Committee. In 1996, Charlene was named as the first recipient of the Caleb R. Layton Service Award by the judges of the federal district court in Delaware. From 1989 through 1997, she served as a member of the federal district court CJA Blue Ribbon Panel.Charlene has authored a chapter related to appellate practice in Federal Practice Guide - Federal Appellate Procedure Third Circuit (Lawyers Cooperative Publishing, 1997) and co-authored an article entitled "Are You in the Vicinity of Insolvency? Serving More Than One Master" printed in The Americas Restructuring and Insolvency Guide 2004/2005 (2004).After receiving her bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from Ohio Wesleyan University, Charlene attended the University of Chicago Law School. Later, she was awarded a J.D., cum laude, by the Delaware School of Law of Widener University where she was a member of Law Review and a member of Phi Kappa Phi.
