| Ileana Fenández-BuitragoSpecial Counsel Ileana Fernández-Buitrago is counsel in the corporate division at Fiddler, González & Rodríguez, P.S.C. where she is a member of the banking and financial institutions practice group and serves on the Firm's intellectual property practice group. Ms. Fernández has considerable experience in regulatory and transactional work involving depository and non-depository financial institutions as well as in general corporate and commercial law. She also handles legislative matters in connection with relevant legislation affecting the financial services industry. Ms. Fernández joined the Firm after long service as in-house counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors of former BanPonce Corporation and its banking and non-banking subsidiaries. In 1985, Ms. Fernández was selected by the Governor as one of the Ten Most Distinguished Professional Women in Puerto Rico. Ms. Fernández is a frequent lecturer and has written several articles on subjects related to her practice. She has taught as an Assistant Professor of Commercial Law at the Interamerican University School of Law.
