| Luis A. OliverShareholder Luis A. Oliver is a member of the litigation division at Fiddler González & Rodríguez, P.S.C. Mr. Oliver served as Senior Law Clerk to U.S. District Judge Salvador E. Casellas, District of Puerto Rico (1994-95). In 2004, he served as President of the Puerto Rico Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, having served in the Chapter's Board of Directors in various capacities since 1999. He was Luis A. Casellas, District of Puerto Rico (1994-95). In 2004, he served as President of the Puerto Rico Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, having served in the Chapter's Board of Directors in various capacities since 1999. He was named by the President of the Federal Bar Association to the Editorial Board (2000-2003) of the Federal Lawyer, the FBA's monthly publication distributed to members at the national level. Mr. Oliver handles complex civil litigation before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and has represented parties in arbitration proceedings under the Commercial and International Rules of the American Arbitration Association. He also frequently handles appellate matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. His experience in federal jury trials includes cases involving Puerto Rico's Dealer's Act, the federal Petroleum Marketing Practices Act, and various tort actions. Mr. Oliver has also been trial counsel for defendants in several preliminary injunction hearings based on Puerto Rico's dealer protection laws, both before the local courts and in the U.S. District Court in Puerto Rico. Among the many reported cases he has tried and/or argued are Eastern Food Services, Inc. v. Pontifical Catholic University Services Ass'n, Inc., 357 F.3d 1 (1st Cir. 2004); Podiatrists Ass'n v. La Cruz Azul de PR, Inc., 332 F.3d 6 (1st Cir. 2003); Seahorse Marine Supplies, Inc. v. Puerto Rico Sun Oil Co., 295 F.3d 68 (1st Cir. 2002).
