| Ricardo L. Ortiz-ColónShareholder Ricardo L. Ortiz-Colón is a member of the litigation division at Fiddler, González & Rodríguez, P.S.C. Mr. Ortiz leads the Products Liability Practice Group. Before joining the Firm, Mr. Ortiz served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Miriam Naveira de Rodón, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. Mr. Ortiz has defended and supervised product liability, aviation, intellectual property, environmental and contracts cases in the Federal and Commonwealth Courts of Puerto Rico. He has defended the integrity of numerous products, including motor vehicles, aircrafts and medical devices. Among the reported cases Mr. Ortiz has tried are Pritzker v. Yari, 42 F. 3d 53 (1st Cir. 1994); Gierbolini-Rosa v. Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, 930 F. Supp. 712 (D.P.R. 1996); Gierbolini-Rosa v. Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, 121 F. 3d 695 (1st Cir. 1997); and Silva v. American Airlines, Inc., 960 F. Supp. 528 (D.P.R. 1997). Bar Professional & Civic Affiliations: Puerto Rico Bar Association, where he has served as member of its Board of Government, as President of the Special Commission for the Study of the Jury Institution in Puerto Rico and as member of other Commissions; American Bar Association, where he currently serves as member of its House of Delegates; Defense Research Institute, where he was appointed Liaison to the 2001 Second International Conference (The Globalization of Product Liability) held in Brussels, Belgium; Federal Bar Association. Mr. Ortiz is a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Legal Office, Inc., an entity that provides pro bono legal services and also serves as the Legal Aid Clinic for the Interamerican University School of Law.
