Representative work - Extensive labour arbitration practice - Damon has assisted employers with a wide variety of union grievances, including discipline and discharge cases, benefits claims, seniority issues, contracting out complaints, management rights issues, discrimination complaints, accommodation issues, etc.
- Regularly appears before the Alberta Labour Relations Board with respect to union certification applications, unfair labour practice complaints, illegal strikes, successorship applications, common employer applications and final offer votes
- Represents employers before Alberta's courts in wrongful dismissal actions, injunction applications and judicial review applications
- Assists employers in understanding their rights and obligations under Alberta's employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Code, the Workers' Compensation Act and the Personal Information Protection Act
- Advises employers with respect to human rights matters, including the duty to accommodate disabled workers and drug and alcohol testing
