Andrew joined Downings in June 1997 having spent the previous six years living and working in London. He became partner of the Professional Indemnity and Commercial Litigation teams in January 2000.
Originally from New Zealand, he graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 1990 and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court and High Court in the same year.
Andrew started his legal career with Izard Weston Solicitors in Wellington where he practiced commercial litigation.
He then moved to the UK in 1991. He worked as in-house counsel for a subsidiary of TSB, primarily advising the Bank on professional indemnity matters, in particular litigation involving the Bank?s professional advisers such as valuers, accountants and solicitors.
In 1994 he joined Rosling King Solicitors, a leading UK firm in the field of professional negligence, where he specialised in professional indemnity, re-insurance and commercial litigation.
Andrew specialises in complex professional indemnity matters (covering all professions), D&O, building, construction and mining disputes, and commercial litigation.
