Michael has over 22 years of legal experience. He graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws.
Michael joined Downings Legal in 1988 and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
He currently runs a practice which includes acting for major insurers in employers' liability, common law and workers' compensation, and public and general liability.
Michael has practiced in the Workers' Compensation Board in New South Wales, the Workers' Compensation jurisdiction in Western Australia, the District Court and Supreme Courts of New South Wales, the Local, District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the Federal Court and High Court. He has advised and acted in respect of many industrial disease cases, including claims in respect of asbestos-related disease, psychiatric injury (including post-traumatic stress disorder), repetitive strain injury and chemical substance exposure.
