Jeffrey S. Sokol is a shareholder with Cook & Franke. His practice includes domestic and international patent and trademark prosecution, infringement opinions and litigation.

Mr. Sokol has experience in a wide variety of technologies, including automotive components, robotic systems, medical devices, information systems, automated machinery, communications technology, concrete blocks, and railroad, farm, and construction equipment. He is experienced with copyright and trade secret protection, as well as with technology transfers, license agreements, and related matters.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Sokol workd for Sargent & Lundy Engineers as a systems engineer in the design and construction of electric power plants. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has also served as an adjunct professor of law at Marquette University, teaching courses in trademark prosecution and litigation.

Mr. Sokol is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Courts, Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and Northern District of Illinois, and the state courts of both Wisconsin and Illinois. He is a member of the Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and Chicago Bar Associations, the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

Mr. Sokol received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1983, and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990. He also has a Master of Business Administration (finance) degree from Loyola University of Chicago (1989).
