Practice Profile
- Employment law practice includes advising employers and management on a variety of issues including drafting and enforcing employment contracts, non-competition, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, fiduciary obligations, employment standards, human rights, short and long-term disability claims, directors' liability, wrongful dismissal, and labour and employment issues in commercial transactions
- Commercial litigation practice focuses on construction disputes, professional negligence claims, real estate disputes, landlord and tenant claims, creditors' remedies including builders' liens and mortgage foreclosure actions, insurance defence, product liability and general corporate commercial disputes
Representative Work - Experienced in all phases of civil litigation including preparation of opinions, drafting of pleadings, chambers applications, examinations for discovery, trial and appeal
- Experience includes complex, multi-party, multi-issue litigation involving extensive documentation
- Has appeared before the provincial, superior and appeal courts of Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan
- Has written and presented papers for the Canadian Bar Association, National Insurance Law Section, Canadian Insurance Claims Managers Association, Institute of Professional Management, Trial Lawyers Association, Canadian Payroll Association and a variety of construction industry associations
- Member, Canadian Bar Association (Civil Litigation, Labour & Employment Law, Foreclosure, Construction and Insurance Law subsections) and Calgary Bar Association
