Law Practice He is counsel to the provincial public utilities regulator and has acted as commission counsel on a wide variety of matters from tariffs to the proposed disposition of utility assets to the construction of major energy projects including the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline and the Southern Crossing Pipeline and the Vancouver Island Transmission Reinforcement Project. Gordon has substantial trial experience in cases involving the interpretation of contracts, breach of fiduciary duty and unjust enrichment. He has successfully defended a claim for unjust enrichment brought by a Formula 1 Team and settled another case involving personal injuries alleged to have been suffered by a world cup skier. He also has considerable experience in trying a case where much of the evidence was in Japanese. In the area of estate litigation, his experience includes acting as trial and appellate counsel in cases involving the variation of wills and trusts and the interpretation of testamentary and trust documents. He acted as counsel for the Public Guardian and Trustee in the two leading cases involving the interpretation of a section of the Patient's Property Act.
