| Jaime Herrera is a founding partner of Posse, Herrera & Ruiz. He heads the Mergers and Aquisitions and Corporate Law areas of the firm and Co-Heads the Energy Department. Mr. Herrera's practice focuses on corporate law, and is a leading player in Colombia on M&As and Energy Law, in oil and gas as well as electricity. Mr. Herrera received a Degree in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College of the University of London in 1987 and a Law Degree from Javeriana University in Bogotá, in 1985. Mr. Herrera has written studies on Technology transfer, Commercial Agency Agreements and has been co-author of several documents on technology transfer within State members of the Andean Agreement. He has also participated in the group of experts who drafted the bill for the new Colombian Code of Commerce. He was President of LES-Colombia-Ecuador from 1991 to 1996. Mr. Herrera is an associate member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and a member of the International Bar Association (IBA). He has been distinguished by Chambers & Partners as one of the most distinguished attorneys on Mergers and Acquisitions in Colombia. His native language is Spanish, and is fully bilingual in English.
