| Alessia Abello is an Associate at Posse, Herrera & Ruiz. Her practice is focused on bidding and concessions of public contracts subject to administrative law. She also works in Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance and Capital Markets. Ms. Abello has participated in privatization processes in the financial and electric sectors. She has also structured infrastructure concession contracts (and their bidding processes), obtaining financing from the private sector; she led the legal team that structured the concessions for the construction of Phase II of the Transmilenio System in Bogotá. She has also acted as counsel for bidders in several bidding processes opened by public authorities, principally in road concessions and procurement. Ms. Abello has participated in syndicated loans acting as counsel of both private and public companies, dealing with regulations regarding public budget and debt. In the capital markets sector Ms. Abello led the legal team that structured the first public venture capital fund in Colombia. Ms. Abello received an LL.M. from Cornell Law School in 2002 and a J.D. from the Universidad de los Andes in 1997. Before joining Posse, Herrera & Ruiz, Ms. Abello was an associate at Durán & Osorio Abogados, in-house lawyer of the Investment Banking Division of the Corporación Financiera del Valle (Corfivalle), associate at Prieto, Gutiérrez, Carrizosa & Patiño and Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados and in-house lawyer of the Fiduciaria Ganadera S.A.
