Practice Profile
Mr. Hanley has practiced labor relations and employment law since 1982. He has extensive experience in litigating class action and single plaintiff suits brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. He also handles whistleblower and retaliation claims. Mr. Hanley is admitted to practice in the Florida state courts, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He is rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in American for both Labor and Employment and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Mr. Hanley is also listed in Florida Trend's Legal Elite and Florida Super Lawyers. He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Labor and Employment law. He is a frequent lecturer on a local, state and national level on all areas of labor and employment law. Mr. Hanley has also helped author numerous articles on labor and employment law. He is a certified mediator and arbitrator in the circuit courts and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law, teaching the Advanced Employment Discrimination Seminar. Mr. Hanley has served as Chairman of several local bar committees, including the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Fee Arbitration Committee, 13-F Grievance Committee and Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
