| Michael joined the firm in 2006. From Helena, Michael is a sixth-generation Montanan. Though he spent his childhood in many different parts of the world (as the son of a Navy officer), he has always considered Montana home. Michael graduated from Whitworth College in 1999 (B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Studies) and from the University of Montana School of Law (J.D., with honors) in 2002. He also attended the University of Washington School of Law, from which he graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation in 2004. During law school he served as Executive Editor of the Montana Law Review. Michael served for one year as a law clerk to Montana Supreme Court Chief Justice Karla M. Gray, and for two years as an attorney-adviser to Judge Herbert L. Chabot of the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C. Michael is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in Montana, as well as the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. His practice areas include taxation, estate planning, real estate, probate, commercial transactions, and business organizations. |
