Mr. Hutchinson received a B.A. from DePauw University in 1993, received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1996, and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1996. He is a member of the firm's Health Care and Business Practice Groups, and is Chair of the firm's Nonprofit Practice Group. Mr. Hutchinson regularly advises nonprofits and health care providers on a variety of topics, including "best practices" in governance, intermediate sanctions compliance, and the start-up, ongoing operation, and sale of ambulatory surgery centers, private and hospital-owned medical practices, and other physician ventures. He also regularly advises clients on health care regulatory matters, including compliance with the Stark law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the numerous other laws affecting health care providers. Mr. Hutchinson represents organizations including hospitals, multi-hospital systems, continuing care retirement communities, physician practices, and physician-owned and joint ventured ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, and cancer centers. Mr. Hutchinson is a frequent speaker on legal topics affecting nonprofit and other health care providers.
