Richard M. Dighello, Jr. is a principal in the Firm's Litigation Department. Since joining the Firm, Mr. Dighello has focused his practice in the areas of design professional defense, construction law, product liability, toxic torts and commercial litigation. Mr. Dighello currently represents design professionals, contractors, subcontractors and several manufacturing companies in federal and state courts, arbitrations and mediation proceedings. Mr. Dighello works closely with clients in their daily business activities to recognize and avoid potential claims and associated business risks. He has assisted clients in all aspects of the construction process including contract negotiations, bidding and the resolution of change order requests, delay and fee claims.

Mr. Dighello represents several manufacturers with headquarters throughout the country in product liability litigation in Connecticut. These companies manufacture products ranging from construction materials such as paints, finishes, patching, dry-wall and joint compound, to naval and industrial equipment such as steam turbines, pumps and furnaces, to friction products such as brakes and clutches. As local counsel for these companies, Mr. Dighello has worked closely with national and in-house legal teams, as well as insurance company representatives, to develop strategies for defending cases and achieving favorable results. Mr. Dighello has also broadened his practice to include product liability issues related to installation of hydrogen-based distributed generation including providing legal assistance to articles on this subject.

Mr. Dighello is a current member of the American Bar Association and its Construction, Product Liability and Mass Torts Committees. He is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, American Subcontractors Association and the Beacon Biomedical Engineering Alliance & Consortium.

Mr. Dighello resides in New Britain, Connecticut and is on the Board of Directors of the Greater New Britain Arts Alliance. Mr. Dighello graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut in 1993 with a B.A. in History. In 1996, Mr. Dighello received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
