| Bar Admission Called to the Barreau du Québec, 1985 Mr. Christian Racicot practices in business and corporate law, mainly in the technology and venture capital sectors but also in more traditional areas. He is the founder of the Quebec City office of BCF (2001) and practices mostly in this region. Christian represents and advises several public and private companies of the Quebec City and Montreal areas, mostly in the high-technology and biotechnology sectors. He has also formed several VCs and represents research centres and universities through their commercial arm. Christian was the main architect and promoter of the $100 M seed fund "Go Capital / BDC" which specializes in the creation and financing of spin offs from universities and research centers in the province of Quebec. This fund, whose investors are the main institutional investors in the province of Quebec and the Business Development Bank of Canada, is the most important initiative ever done in technology seed investment in Canada. OTHER FUNCTIONS Christian Racicot is the president and co-founder (with Mr. Stephen A. Hurwitz of the Boston law firm Choate Hall & Stewart LLP) of the "North American Venture Capital Summit" (www.navcs.com), an annual event aimed at promoting relationships between Canadian, US and foreign VCs and LPs. He is also vice-president of the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (www.cvca.ca). He is actively involved in this community, especially in the field of economic development. Mr. Racicot is secretary and member of the executive committee of Sovar LP (www.sovar.com), a limited partnership created by Laval University and CHUQ (Quebec City University Hospital) in order to promote commercially the best research findings of the laboratories of these university centers. He is also secretary of Pôle Quebec and Chaudière-Appalaches (www.pole-qca.ca), the economic development organization of the Greater Quebec City area. |
