Called to the Barreau du Québec, 1994
François studied law at Université de Sherbrooke and was admitted to the Bar of Quebec in 1994. He is with the BCF team at its Quebec City office.
As a partner in the business law team, François works with entrepreneurs, from the creation of the enterprise throughout its growth. He advises them on their corporate needs as well as on the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, such as shareholder and partner agreements, distribution agreements, commercial leases and service agreements. François also practises in the area of intellectual property, specifically in the negotiation and drafting of licence agreements and assignment of rights. He also works on a regular basis with the financial services and real-estate teams on real-estate deals and traditional financing.
François' clientele comes from a variety of sectors, including computer science, biotechnology, manufacturing and industries, banking, restaurants, real-estate and retail.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
For ten years, François has been a counselor and speaker for Entrepreneuriat Laval (a business incubator at Université Laval) and is also a member of its Board of Directors. He has also been a counselor for many years for Centre de formation et de création d'entreprises for the Capitale-nationale School Board. He is a jury member for a number of competitions, including the Quebec entrepreneurship competition.
François is a board director and secretary of the Association des directeurs de crédit du Québec and is secretary for a venture capital fund. Finally, he has been a director of Productions Les Gros Becs, a major youth and children's theatre production company, for more than ten years, five of which as President. |
