Harold?s practice encompasses tax and estate planning, and corporate and commercial law with particular emphasis on providing tax effective structures for wealth maximization for a broad range of clients.  He has experience in numerous facets of tax practice including personal and corporate income tax planning, goods and services, sales and land taxes, international tax, tax litigation and dispute resolution.  Harold has acted on a wide variety of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, share asset purchases, corporate re-organizations, and leveraged buyouts.  He has helped establish employee profit sharing, stock purchase and stock option plans and has acted in the establishment of numerous charitable organizations, foundations, including private foundations, as well as non-profit organizations.

Harold has developed tax effective structures for numerous clients in the medical, dental and other professional services involving management, technical service and professional service companies; has acted as corporate counsel for a number of area hospitals and developed a hospital alliance structure for a number of local hospitals.  His commercial practice includes commercial leasing and financings as well as condominium matters.   

Harold is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Ottawa Estate Planning Council.  He has instructed on Tax Law and Business Law for the Bar Admission Course.  Harold is actively involved in community activities and serves on the Board of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa and is actively involved with the Ottawa Jewish Community Foundation and the Tamir Foundation.
