J. Scott Timmer is a Member of the firm and has been practicing law since 1980.  His practice is concentrated in matters relating to real estate, construction and creditors' rights.

Real Estate

Mr. Timmer has represented developers, landlords, tenants, commercial and industrial property owners, school systems, townships, financial institutions and individuals in matters relating to the acquisition, sale, leasing and zoning of real property.  He has lectured on real estate topics such as boundary disputes.

Condominium

Mr. Timmer has represented developers in creating residential and commercial condominium projects.

Construction

Mr. Timmer has extensive experience in the construction industry, and has represented owners, contractors and subcontractors in matters relating to development and construction liens.

Mr. Timmer is involved in a number of professional associations, including the State Bar of Michigan and its Real Estate and Business Law Sections as well as the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the Muskegon Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Education

Mr. Timmer received his law degree in 1980 from the University of Michigan Law School and his undergraduate degree with high distinction and honors in 1977 from the University of Michigan.  He is admitted to practice in Michigan.
