John J.  Alissi is a member of the Firm's Corporate Law Department where he focuses his practice on commercial and government lending, business law and real estate.

As a member of the Commercial Lending & Banking practice group, Mr. Alissi  represents commercial banks, finance companies and other debt and equity providers in all aspects of commercial lending including acquisition and construction financing, permanent mortgage financing, syndicated loans and participation agreements. Mr. Alissi also has extensive experience in asset based lending, commercial finance and other forms of secured transactions, including revolving loans, term loans and letters of credit to various types of businesses.  Furthermore, Mr. Alissi's practice includes the representation of banks and other institutional lenders in a variety of government guaranteed loans, including U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Export-Import Bank, and U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Business-Cooperative Service guaranteed financing transactions.

Mr. Alissi also represents small and medium sized businesses in general corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, as well as clients involved in real estate matters including the acquisition, disposition and leasing of industrial, commercial, office and mixed use properties. Mr. Alissi also has extensive experience creating and maintaining corporations, limited liability companies and other legal entities.

Mr. Alissi is active in various professional and community associations including The Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut, the Kingswood-Oxford Alumni Council, the Farmington River Anglers Association, the Business and Commercial Law Sections of the Connecticut Bar Association and is Vice President of the Williams College Alumni Association of Greater Hartford.

He is co-author of HIPAA: Does it Apply to Banks and Financial Institutions? April 17, 2002, and Author of, "Revolutionizing the Telephone Industry," Connecticut Journal of International Law, Vol. 13-2, Spring 1999.  He received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, Connecticut, where he received the Excellence for the Future Award for Problems in Criminal Law.  He received his B.A. in History from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts.  From 1989 through 1991, Mr. Alissi attended the United States Military Academy at West Point in New York.
