Martin Smith is a partner and Head of the Property Finance Group at Finers Stephens Innocent. He has a broad range of experience in commercial property, retail investment management and letting, site acquisition, property finance and property insolvency. Martin studied law at Oxford and Guildford. Having trained with city firm Gouldens he qualified in 1992 and joined that firm's commercial property department. There he acted on a broad spectrum of commercial property work encompassing investment and development work for well known quoted property companies. Martin also gained a great deal of experience in retail property, acting for high street fashion chains, landlords and investors. In 1997 he joined Cameron McKenna to act on development and joint venture work. In 1999 Martin was recruited by niche factoring law practice Wildes to head up their property department. He built up a property finance based practice, before joining Finers Stephens Innocent in 2001. His client base includes high street banks and mezzanine lenders and transactions covering single property acquisition loans to development finance and corporate acquisition finance. |
